Newbie Question: How to set up webcam.dll?

Dec 19, 2007 at 7:03 AM
Hi,

This is probably a dumb question, but I will ask it anyway:
How do I get started using the webcam.dll?

If I copy it to an existing WinCE 6.0 system, do I need to use
regsvr32ce to register it? If so, where can I get this utility
for an X86 system?

Assuming it is installed happily (I assume in the Windows
folder), does it require any other DLLs?

And finally, is there an already compiled test program
somwhere that I can use to see if it is working?

In case you haven't guessed, I am trying to do all of this
without compiling anything because I don't have an
appropriate installation of EVC.

Thanks,
Trevor

You put the WebCam.dll in the windows directory on the device

I believe that was enough last time I used it, but there are also registry entries to include. These are in the .zip file
;
; USB Webcam registry settings
;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\ClientDrivers\Video_Class
"Prefix"="CAM"
"Dll"="Webcam.dll"

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\LoadClients\1133_2245\Default\Default\Video_Class
"DLL"="webcam.dll"

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\LoadClients\Default\Default\14\Video_Class
"DLL"="webcam.dll"

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\LoadClients\1133_2448\Default\14\Video_Class
"DLL"="webcam.dll"
