I read in another discussion there a camtest2 sample program, but I can't see where I can download this (all link are dead...).

Thanks

Hi Mark,

I would like to receive or get the sample program and C# wrapper by Jason Ye. But it doesn't seems to be a good idea to post my e-mail. Isn't there any other way to get those files?

Thanks

Hi Marcelo,

Why not use a temporary hotmail address?

BTW the zip file containing everything (including camtest2) is 10Mb.

Thanks
Mark

Hi Pascal,

Sounds good to me but I think that Mark would need an authorization from the C# Wrapper code owner to post it on a website and leave it there to anyone to get it. I don't know how to reach Jason Ye to ask for his permission, and I don't know if Mark does either.

Anyway if we can talk to Jason Ye to have his permission there will be no problem to let it be hosted on your http space.

Thank you very much Mark,,

I put only WebCamTest sample for the moment at this link : http://devpi.free.fr/wince/camtest2_cpp.zip.

I leave on holiday, On my return (27), I would see to add C# Wrapper code if Jason Ye give his permission.

May I ask a stupid question, I have encountered a build problem. The complier tells me it can't find "InitConverters", "FreeConverters", and "SetMotionDetectState". Could anyone tell me where these 3 functions are?
Sep 19, 2007 at 6:27 AM
Look in CameraCode.cpp for this functions, I'm not try with compiler...

Hi Pascal,

Those 3 functions are not existed in CameraCode.cpp. I have commented out the "SetMotionDetectState" because I think it is useless for me. But I still cannot find out where the "InitConverters" and "FreeConverters" are. Are they included from another library?

Besides, could you please send me the Jason Ye's C# wrapper? My e-mail: linalin1979@gmail.com

Thanks.

Fortunately I backup these files http://ic2.epfl.ch/~zhou/others/docWebCam.zip from the gotdotnet(now the files don't exist, i don't know why)
which contains all the released versions,(see the details inside the html ). I don't know which is better. because i am still studying for it. I hope you can find which you need.

and i had some problems with SetMotionDetectState" "InitConverters" and "FreeConverters" what do they do?
if comment them, will it still work?

Neither the driver nor CamTest2 will run in the emulator. The emulator doesn't have access to the PC's USB ports and so can't expose the hardware to the driver. If the driver can't see the hardware it won't load. and... if CamTest can't find the driver, it fails with the error message you're seeing.

You will need real hardware with a USB host port to use the driver. Sorry.

I downloaded the zip and included the WebCam.NET in a OS Design (using CEFileWiz). I put the image on USB-stick that boots the nk.bin and tried running the program. I got an error: File or assembly name 'WebCam.wrapper' or one of its dependencies, was not found.

1) Does anybody know how to fix this?
2) And can anybody send me the C# Wrapper code? wouter.dewilde AT gmail.com?

Thank you!

Hello, I don't really understand your question? Are you able to compile the code for driver, and camtest2 application?
if you can compile them, normally it should work under the CE system.
Jan 16, 2008 at 8:11 AM
When you download the "docWebCam.zip" and unzip it you get multiple directories.
I opened the project in the "WebCam.NET"-directory, build it with visual studio 2005, added it to OS Design by using CEFileWiz and than build my OS Design.
This gave me the nk.bin image of the OS with the WebCam.NET-program in it.
This is the only thing I did.
Do I need to do anything more to make it work? Is there for example a special feature that needs to be added to the OS Design to make it work?
Jan 24, 2008 at 2:47 PM
I backupped the things on from the web, but maybe they are not all useful. You can just download the latest version on this website.
I don't know how WebCam.NET works. But normally you need 2 things.
1. Webcam.dll , this is the driver.
2. CamTest2.exe , this is the an application which talks to the drivers, and draws the frames on the screen
If you just want to use them. you can just copy them to your CEPC, these 2 files are already in the project folder, and there exists several versions for the different processor. Then plug in the WebCam to USB, in the dialog box
enter the name of driver which is \WebCam.dll , then run the CamTest2.exe. It should work.

The OS design, you can create separately, but including the USB host drivers. jpeg decoder encoder, mpeg codec, might be important, I am not sure that all of these are necessary.

If you want to change the code, then you can just the source code, and work with whatever tools you like. VC2005, or Embedded VC++.
You can have a look of Microsoft Video tutorial for Windows CE, which are fantastic

Well to answer your first question, the source can't see the header (just as it says).

Hi Maoan,

Thanks so much for your help.

But still I encountered a problem, I built an OS design with MJPEG decompression filter, checked Image encoding and decoding.

copied the camtest2.exe to my embedded device, but i got this error.

"The driver reports no format supported or an error getting formats. Error code = 0"

How do i solve it?

I tried running it on a default OS image and I got an error saying...

The driver reports only MJPEG format.

Please help.

Best regrads,

Ryukki

Hi,

I downloaded the CamTest2 code for using it for testing USB cameras in a WINCE 6.0 R3 environment.

But when compiling it in VS 2005 I got the error:

fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'webcamsdk.h': No such file or directory

Please advise how to get the webcamsdk.h file. There is already a file WebCamSDK.h included in the

project, but it doesn't solve the problem. What is the difference between this file and webcamsdk.h file?

Also, please e-mail me the webcam.h and C# dll and Webcam.dll for the CamTest2 application.

Do I need some other code? Can camTest2 application show MJPEG images from an USB camera?

My e-mail is: ptomov@adaptivedigitalsystems.com

Thanks,

   Paul
